How it is calculated
- Posts: length ÷ spacing, rounded up, plus one for an open line. A closed loop needs no extra post.
- Panels or rails: one per interval, so one fewer than the posts on an open line.
- Concrete: one cylinder per post, π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × depth, then bags = volume ÷ yield of a bag, rounded up.
- Waste: applied before rounding. Ten percent is the usual allowance for offcuts and breakage.
